Re: In praise of the cable release button (notes from a roadtrip)

The MGs are functional as are the VW/cupra but they don't come close to the E quality/spec wise. We test drove a Mégane e tech "techno" today which is the mid range spec and were really disappointed. I'd love to hear more about why you didn't like the Mégane; on paper it sounds great. The...

Re: In praise of the cable release button (notes from a roadtrip)

Did the longest roadtrip in the 2 years, 3 months I've had my e this weekend, 400 miles from Thanet to Birmingham and back across 2 days. Sure, I'm sure it's pretty small by comparison to some you've all done, but generally the furthest I go is the 280 round trip from here to my family on the south...

Re: Which 7kw charger?

It's worth speaking to a company that fit them. I went with elecology 18 months ago and they were really good. Fast responses to queries, straight forward ordering process, they kept to dates/schedule and the electrician's who came to fit it seemed to know what they were doing. https://www.elecology...

Re: October Energy Price cap

I renewed my octopus tariff the other week (its been a year since I got the E). If you go for the 'go' package, the 4hr night rate is going up from 5p to 7.5p/unit which isn't so bad. We've just moved onto this tariff as well, locked in for 12 months. 7pish at night and about 40p in the day i think...

Very close shave/rear parking sensors

So I think I've become a bit too reliant on the parking sensors as I went to one of our local car parks the other day... There is a large overhang which they have painted red but there is a significant gap below the overhang to the rear of the space which led to a very close shave. It was pure luck ...

Re: Extended Range

Are people's ranges extended just by the fact the weather is now warmer? I have been able to make a couple of journeys during late morning & early afternoon recently and noticed that I can comfortably get 4.8+ miles/kWh, on one trip yesterday where the first 3 miles were slow I was seeing an av...

Re: COMMUTING

It's very easy to set up from the EV menu in the car. These are my settings. I mistakenly ticked PM at one point and couldn't figure out why it wasn't turning on in the mornings! Worked it out after 2 weeks! I think it will also turn your heated seats on if you had them turned on when you turned the...

Re: What kind of deals are available on a Honda e?

If you go for one of the higher priced 2nd hand ones you might be able to negotiate something, however I bought an ex demo early Spring 2021, they refused to budge on price as it was one of the cheapest on auto trader at the time. The lowest priced cars on auto trader now are a fair bit more than I ...

Re: Highest Charge Rate

I've had 48 at a Shell 150kw charger but it didn't last long. Got to say the Shell one was really easy to use though. I've tried an Ionity as well and it was a real pain with slow/buggy app.

The instavolt 50kw ones are easy to use but I only get 20-30kw out of them at best.

Another +1 on the number plate!
