Re: Potential new 'e' owner

I know the range is not particularly high - has this created any issues for owners? Yes, if you ever want to go more than 40 or 50 miles from home, you have to use public charging if you want to get back. This is acceptable off-peak but can involve waiting at peak times (Saturday/Sunday). If applic...

Re: Citroen oli concept

I wonder if the underlying concept will have enough appetite with consumers. Generally, bigger/heavier/more kit/more comfort is the utility people are after. Will any ideals regarding materials/sourcing/environmental impact overcome those, probably not. Imagine if the e didn't have a dash and you us...

Re: Octopus Go or not Go?

If you don't have your e yet, you can roughly work out what your usage would be. at 5k miles pa, at an average of 3.5m/kwh + 10% charging heating losses, you are probably going to use around 1,500kwh on the car charging front. At the cheap rate (assuming always charge in the cheap 7.5p rate using a ...

Re: New member

EV chargers do not need to be smart, but with the solar curveball you may benefit from one possibly. Previously, smart chargers specifically had to offer timing and usage monitoring in order to qualify for the £300 fitting grant. This grant no longer exists however. A dumb charger has no app for exa...

Re: How much?

I charged up last night at home from 26% to full (so a 74% charge) and it was 23.2kwh input , so that makes max 31kwh for a full charge from 0% (probably a tiny bit lest because that 23.2kwh includes battery heating which isn't needed in 1 continuous full charge. So as was quoted elsewhere 28.5kwh +...

Re: New member

Welcome to the forum. There are not many tariffs out there that support time based pricing. You will need to have a smart meter already installed on your supply to benefit from any cheap off-peak pricing. If you have economy 7 meter you will already be on a similar mechanism. I'm with Octopus on the...

Re: Hello from Birmingham!

Welcome to the forum.

Ask any questions, plenty of long term owners on here.

If you find yourself out towards brands hatch this weekend, you can see me and my e at the Go Japan car show (strangely, on the honda prelude club stand).

Re: How much?

You'll never push 35.5kWH into an E, unless you drove it 20 miles after hitting 0% lol. Batteries are a complicated thing, not just a shape of known volume to be filled up with liquid like a petrol tank - those days are gone. I don't have detailed charging history on my home charger, but I don't thi...

Re: Quick Plug-in charging system problem

I doubt that the over the air updates can update the firmware of various modules. I suspect that the firmware of critical components is not available to the software stack of the infotainment to update. I could be wrong, but given how poor the integration is between the infotainment and the hardware...

Re: Quick Plug-in charging system problem

I was at the service today and I asked him about a possible battery charging update. He said that there was no such as far as they know. He knew the problem beforehand and was very nice. The fault code that was active was "dc positive side contactor not releasing", so basically when the c...
