Re: 12 volt battery

I'm hesitant at posting this, in case I tempt fate but… Since I have had my 12V battery replaced under warranty , I haven’t had any problems. Yes, I have Battery Monitor in place, so I can easily check State of Charge and Voltage. If it drops below 60% SoC I plug in and recharge the main HV battery ...

Re: Performance & Range v. Battery Size 30kWh

Small battery is the correct decision imo. For the primary reason of pushing EV over ICE, what's the point of carrying a heavier dead load and waste the very energy which we are trying to conserve? I hope you are right, and that in the future we will see some ‘disruptive innovators’ bring small, co...

Re: How is the range calculated?

Hi londiniumperson “I'm shocked that you got on average 14 kWh/100 km, this 4.4m/kWh, unless I turn off the HVAC system this figure is a dream for me as I average 3.1m/kWh (20 kWh/100km) over 18000 miles.” I think we have been here before, and knowing where you live, and the pace of life there, I’m ...

Performance & Range v. Battery Size 30kWh

When Honda first launched their Concept for the Honda e, I think it is fair to say it created a lot of excitement, both in the media, and with potential customers. When we finally caught sight of the Honda e Prototype, there was some disappoint that it was now a 5 door rather than 3 door hatch, and ...

Time Zone +5 to +10

Here’s one for the techies! I managed to catch my nearside front wing on a workbench leg in my garage. Very silly mistake, was tired and stressed, not paying attention as I reversed out. And it needed a professional repair. Because they rebuilt the front, reworking & respraying existing parts, i...

Did you Buy or Sell up?

So after 3 years I finally had to find the funds to pay the Settlement sum! Certainly didn’t want to “hand the car back” and couldn’t afford to trade up to new. I guess those that sold up, and moved on, won’t still be on this platform, but I thought it might be interesting to know those who have stu...

Tech Review

The Honda e advance is perceived as expensive, and certainly at current prices it’s pushing the boundaries of affordability. Much of the reason, and possibly justification, is that the advance is loaded with lots of tech. So after 3 years of ownership I thought I would share what I value, and what f...

Re: Will we get home after arriving at destination with 51%

I very rarely drive at night, but when I do it is noticeable how much the efficiency drops due to headlight use. Not sure what they draw in terms of current/kWs but it seems to make a big difference - say 10 - 15% loss

Re: Daily topping up the battery bad?

They say "variety is the spice of life" so I always vary my top limit. Usually charge at home to 80% or 85% - only use 90% or 95% if I'm planning a long journey. I prefer not to charge to 100% because I usually drive slightly downhill for first 2-3 miles in One Pedal Mode so lots of regene...
