I have had my e for two weeks and have noted that the auto unlock does not work when my car is parked on my drive.
The auto unlock works every where else without fail.
I have checked the user manual but cannot find any setting that would explain this.

Anyone got any thoughts or answers ?

I agree totally with you. Both cables should be supplied. You point about old wiring is very important. You should have the who circuit checked if you intend to use the granny cable.
