Re: Chip tuning boxes for honda e

Doesn't do anything...

From the bottom of the site:

The RaceChip RX is attached between the accelerator pedal sensor and the engine control unit

So all it does it modulate and adjust throttle position. Yawn...

Re: 12V battery issues

YBX053 at a guess, hard to make out since the bracket is in the way. HSB053 is the model I purchased from halfords for 89.95. There doesn't seem to be any listed difference between the batteries other than warranty offered, so I guess both are the same otherwise. I don't think it really matters what...

Re: Unable to start Honda e

You can replace it with any '053' battery. You can get a Yuasa 5000 series '053' from halfords for just under 100quid, a straight swap. I fitted a larger '005' battery, but this requires removing the battery tray and replacing the hold down bracket with something larger - and it doesn't really fix t...

Re: Traffic sign recognition system display - Re-enabled on startup?

I don't think anyone has an 11th gen civic here?

The 10th gen does recognise speed limit signs, but it doesn't enforce them automatically (it can optionally enforce/warn, but you don't have to turn it off each time thankfully).

Re: Boot Lock Won't Open

Just to double check, there are 2 buttons in the boot handle. There is a larger one on the left which should open it. There is a smaller one on the right which is to lock the car. Unless you've read the manual it might not be obvious. To answer the original question, I've never had any trouble with ...

Re: Electrical Problems

That's great information Peter-E! It means a couple of things to me. ABS regulators fail with pressure sensor faults, common enough to be found via google searches, and they can be rebuilt by third party rebuilders. It also means that the fault is not logged as a permanent failure. That is to say if...

Re: Electrical Problems

People who had this failure did they use one pedal drive as their main driving mode? Trying to figure out if one pedal driving might increase the risk of failure. Good thought - it would also be good to know the rough temperature when the fault occurred in case it is related also. I don't think any...

Re: Electrical Problems

And they wonder why people are reluctant to switch to EVs. Whilst people might see that as hyperbole unrelated to the car being an EV - the part in question wouldn't be nearly so complicated/expensive/fault prone if it was an ICE equivalent. I would hazard a guess that the failure of the module is n...

Re: Electrical Problems

One of the problems with part similarity is that whilst parts might be physically identical, the operating parameters between them are not. That means whilst an ABS modulator for one VW golf will be physically identical to another golf, they will be coded accordingly for wheel size , suspension, wei...

Re: Key Fob not working

One fob stopped working. No red light. Battery changed. Still not working...... Tip: remember to take the child-proof sticker off the battery - doh! Fair play for admitting to the mistake     The car does have anti-lock out protection. It will not let you lock the car if it thin...
