Re: Sheffield to Harrogate

Maybe the outward journey was overall downhill with a trailing wind, so the homeward journey was overall uphill and against the wind? I see that all the time on my shorter journeys around town - outwards I drive up some big hills, homewards it's downhill, so I may get 3.6m/kWh outwards and 6.1m/kWh...

Re: Sheffield to Harrogate

I know that we call it turtle mode, but whenever I've had the turtle visit and once even ran the car to zero there was no perceivable reduction in power. Did you notice any reduction in performance whist the turtle was alive? Also don't forget that from YouTube reviews there is around 10-15 miles l...

Re: Sheffield to Harrogate

Thing is, while the car display suggests you've only used 51%, try using the remaining 49% and you'll be very disappointed. I think the car basically has very poor non-linear battery "percentage" readings. I went from Home to Guildford yesterday (41.5 miles). Left on 93%, arrived on 51%, s...

Re: Manchester to London

With the wether forecast to be very mild this weekend, I’d say just use the climate controls to stay comfortable on your journey, and it won’t make that much of an impact over the hour and a bit between charges. If it’s 79 motorway miles between charge 1 and 2, you will need to charge to a least 90%...

Another price hike!

I wonder if Honda are trying to exploit the current fuel crisis...

The base model has just gone up another £950, so it now starts at a whopping £29,165 with the UK grant applied. Oddly, the configurator still has the old pricing, but the intro page has been updated.

Re: Navigation live traffic

“No traffic subscription in this region” is what I have too. It’s really quite poor.

My 12 year old Passat still happily picks up TrafficMaster (or whatever it uses) data and integrates it into the in-built Nav. I don’t have to pay any subscription for it either.

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5 Project 45

It’s the available height in the boot that’s the problem for me. The load cover is set way down from the top of the seats (because of the extreme angle of the tailgate) and the boot floor it right up to the loading lip (which is already really high). Would it even take a full bag of shopping standin...

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5 Project 45

Saw the 5 in the flesh for the first time at Fully Charged Outside yesterday. For a car that I was seriously considering, having now seen the underwhelming boot space, I’ll have to rule it out. Boot on the ID.4 and Enyaq both considerably deeper, but I really dislike the ID interior, and I’m not con...
