Winter may still happen in 2020, so in order to sill be a lazy person and avoid digging out snow from the chargeport if winter comes, I went to my local dealer and purchased a chargeport hood. (2.078,70 NOK / 195.79 EUR / 177.17 GBP)
It's surprisingly soft and easily foldable (folds flat), comes with a satchel/bag to keep it in and a multilingual manual.
Feels like some sort of vinyl fabric, could probably be easily made DIY if you have the dimensions, skill and fabric.
(Officially called "Port Lid Cover" Partnumber 08P35-TYF-600, Made in Italy)
Official photo from Honda, for a better view.
How it fits my car. (Regrettable image quality, my apologies (night time, long exposure))
Bonus image, frosty easter egg. (Starship Enterprise? C64/Amiga/Atari game sprite? Any other ideas?)
Charge port hood
It cost how much? If it cost about 6% of that amount I might consider buying one, but that is a ridiculous amount of money for something that shouldn't cost much more than a shopping bag.Ovuvuevuevue___Osas wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 8:56 pm I went to my local dealer and purchased a chargeport hood. I think I'd rather use a cardboard box!
The back and sides go right down into the hole, and there is very strong velcro on the part surrounding the cable. I can't see a monsoon blowing it off!
I think it's very well made, and considering the limited market and associated logistics to design, manufacture and distribute, I think it's not unreasonably priced. I paid GBP 89.25 for mine.
