So what are all those filler caps for? Well, thanks to manual, and a bit of googling, I think I've worked out most of them:
Firstly, we're introduced to two new (to me anyway) terms here - IPU and PCU.
- IPU - Intelligent Power Unit
The IPU contains 35.5 kWh high-capacity battery modules and a 12 V DC-DC converter.
A coolant-cooling method has been adopted to respond to the increased power of the battery, boosting cooling performance.
- PCU - Power Control Unit
The PCU integrates an inverter that drives the traction motor, an inverter that drives the generator, and a DC-DC converter to boost battery voltage (referred to as a “Voltage Control Unit (VCU)”)
- VCU - The VCU employs an interleaved circuit configuration and a coupled inductor.
Ok, that identifies four of those caps... but look again at the photos. There are five! That large expansion tank up behind the washer fluid filler remains a mystery.
