Infotainment system shutdown.

First technical glitch while driving. Infotainment screens went black / shutdown. Driver console was still working. Pulled over and stopped / started car. It came back on briefly for about 5 seconds then shutdown again. Radio was still on but couldn’t control from dashboard buttons. Steering wheel buttons were still functional.
Reversing camera system was also still working, ie displayed camera views on screen.
After stopping / locking car and then restarting car brought it back.
Hope it’s a one off issue.

Always report to Honda so they can investigate and fix any bugs

Happened again this morning. It appears that it does a full restart as the up time counter gets reset.
I've shut all the running apps down, and just have the DAB radio running, will see if that makes any difference, otherwise I'll contact dealer and ask then to check it.

It is now shutting down every few minutes. :-(
First 5 days it was working perfectly.

Oh man - that's annoying!

Is there actually any kind of customer service in Japan that you could turn to? Probably Honda is very interested in immediate feedback on the Honda e (especially with regard to the software, which will also be used on other models)...

Good question. No idea. I’d assumed the car would report errors automatically via the the cars network connection. But mine isn’t on at the moment. Off to dealer tomorrow. So will see what they say. Will let you know.

This smells of a hardware failure. Perhaps a loose connector or damaged RAM.
