Window washer bottle - Measuring the level

It it has been noted by a couple of people that the washer bottle is small (2.5 litres) in comparison to other cars.
Did you know that if you take off the lid and then keep pulling you will find that there this is measuring aid, though it is worse than useless because I found it impossible to see the level on this, it has some slots but this didn't help me.
Also at the tip there are some marks so show the amount at 1/4 & 1/2 (this is from memory because I last checked a couple of weeks ago, so I could be wrong as to these exact markings).
