Honda had my car for 2 days a few weeks ago looking at the window not closing fully every time issue as well as the recall update and supposedly the battery was perfectly OK after it had failed completely just before then.milligoon wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 3:15 pm I was just wondering why there is no voltage on that screen shot, even when there is no charging it should show a voltage, maybe your app wasn't live to the battery monitor?
Given your battery was really flat the other day it's possible the deep discharge (for whatever reason) has damaged the battery. Something like a ctek or optimate battery charger may condition it better than the normal charging of the car or normal simple battery charger.
That said I'd be asking Honda for a new battery before you get stranded somewhere.
I'll gather some more data from the dongle before asking them some questions.
I've got no confidence in their ability to do anything, they've failed me at every single step, from ordering through to the present day, I think zero out of 10 would be a generous score.
My phone wasn't in range of the CTEK dongle when I did
that last screenshot. Here's the latest after I arrived home:

Not good, a max of 60% charge & a min of about 18%.
It's pretty bad if an owner of a brand new car has to spend time diagnosing faults that a dealership should, especially when they know that the battery was completely dead one morning after not being driven for 3 days and also that the driver's window intermittently doesn't shut fully, have it for 2 days and declare that there's no issue.
Either the battery is fubar'd or the monitor is faulty.

I've now had the CTEK battery monitor on my car for 2 weeks & I am awaiting a call back from the dealer to arrange for them to look at it (EDIT: Booked in 14 June) and we'll see if the battery or the monitor is at fault. BTW I'm not taking bets on this
Those rapid increase in voltage (spikes) appear to match up with charging of the main traction battery & the reduction in voltage is usually when the car has ben sat unused.
You might be able to see that when I drive the car, the voltage increases slightly, then levels off during the drive.
That final peak was during a charge with that final drop off being where the car has unplugged from the charger an sat on my drive (with one 4 mile drive 9pm on 27 May):

What happens if you fully charge the 12v battery using a mains charger, and then see what the CTEK says. Is the CTEK monitor calibrated for that particular battery?londiniumperson wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 12:11 pm I've now had the CTEK battery monitor on my car for 2 weeks...

It doesn't measure amps, only voltage.
Setting a different battery amperage made no difference. I know because originally I left it at the default which I think was 75Ah, then after a couple of days changed it to 45Ah once I had realised.
