I'm not long back from a "road trip" to Ireland. It's the longest journey I've done in the Honda and I was a bit anxious how it would all go. Travelled from Dundee to a village in Co Westmeath via the Antrim coast (ie by no means the most direct route).

In fact, apart from one nasty skid which was completely my fault, the car performed beautifully. I planned carefully and never had any range anxiety - at least not once I was sure that the swipe card/fob that I got in advance would actually work in Ireland. Mostly I was able to integrate charging with stops I needed or wanted to make anyway. I was on a pretty relaxed schedule though - but that made for a very pleasurable and relaxed experience.

I've never driven outwith the UK so was a bit concerned about metric speed limits.... but to be honest it only took me minutes to adapt.

I made a couple of little videos and would be very happy for feedback (they're embedded in my blog)

Thanks for that, it's interesting to hear how you got on with your epic journey.
Having the correct mindset with some planning appears to be the key with accomplishing a long trip in the Honda.

The best colour.
Thanks for posting this. Next weekend I'm going on my first long-distance journey; this is very reassuring!

Hi Michael,
Very interesting to see how you manage a long trip, so far I've been put off doing one. Watch first video and was very interesting :-) look forward to watching the series.
