It's very easy to set up from the EV menu in the car.
These are my settings. I mistakenly ticked PM at one point and couldn't figure out why it wasn't turning on in the mornings! Worked it out after 2 weeks!
I think it will also turn your heated seats on if you had them turned on when you turned the car on last.
If you want to do it ad hoc, you just press the lock button on the remote, let go and then hold the fan button until the remote flashes. Hope that helps.
