Which Type 2 cable to buy?

Just bought my Honda e from a private owner but Honda doesn't provide the Type 2 - Type 2 cable from new here in Italy.

They asked me 310€ (264£) for the original one, but there's many people selling Type 2 cables they don't need for cheaper (Mini, BMW, etc. or generic cable brands).

Can I just get any one? I read the car can take up to 22kw from a standard Type2 cable so I guess that's what I should look for or do they all do the job?

Thanks for the help

I am no expert on this, but provided its a Type2-Type2 you should be able to buy any one, just get one for the length you will need.
In the UK the car is supplied with a charging cable, but I needed an extended one and ordered this

Make sure you buy a 32A one

Fair enough, there's quite a few good options there for half the price of the Honda one

This is correct - I think there is either a resistor between two pins, or a little bit of active electronics that prevents the cable exceeding it's maximum spec. So, if you buy a 16A cable even if your car and EVSE can supply 7kW, you will only charge at 3.something. Assuming that you have a single phase supply and no other regular uses for the cable, a 32A, single phase cable is probably the best option (I think this is Honda's spec when supplied with the car).

Getting a good condition second hand cable that was supplied with a car that can take 7kW+ seems like an excellent idea - as long as you know it is genuine, the car maker is unlikely to have cut too many costs on something so vital to the experience of their customer.

There are situations where a 3 kW cable can make sense though, as they are usually lighter and more flexible, and it could be useful for example if you want to take advantage of solar panels that can't supply the whole 7kW, or where you're just more comfortable putting a smaller load on a circuit.

The Honda e can take up to 6.6kW not 22kW. A cable in single phase 32A that can charge up to 7kW is all you need. Otherwise will be too heavy if you go for 3 phase 22kW ones.
I bought mine from https://evchargeplus.com/

Couldn't find it on the Honda UK page, it says 3 phase 22kw but also says Honda Power Charger so maybe it's something related to their Wallbox?
I'm confused

It's here https://www.honda.co.uk/cars/new/honda- ... tions.html
Select the model scroll down to Specifications, click the '+' to the right, then click 'Show more' under 'Performance':

Yes it is their wallbox, the Honda power charger that can deliver up to 22KW in 3 phase but the car can take only 6.6kW

Same if I find a public charging station that can deliver 22kw?
I wonder what the point is in selling a Power Station like that if the car can take less kw
