Dealer visit was required to fix the DC non-charging issue. Warranty repair costing around £800 to replace the battery charge control unit was required to resolve.

Are you saying you had to pay £800 despite being within warranty? Or it would have been £800 if not within warranty?

When I bought my Honda e to service because of the faulty 12 volt battery, first they said that they can't promise that the guarantee will cover it because the car has been originally bought in Germany, and although the warranty all around inside EU is valid, the terms of guarantee can differ from country to country. So, they must follow the German terms of guarantee, and if the battery is covered there, they will service it. And of course it was covered.

New owner here - all noted thank you! As an ex Tesla owner I’ve also emailed Honda and asked them what’s going on. As far as I know the type 2 plugs for Teslas are wired differently to other type 2 EVs which is why only the CCS ready sites are suitable for other brands - Tesla do do things differently so I wouldn’t be surprised if their systems aren’t compatible with everybody else.

For what it's worth I used Tesla's support form to contact them, since Honda aren't handling this well:
Hi,
I own a Honda e and have seen reports of compatibility issues with Superchargers:

Could you please say if you're aware and looking into this? I'd love to use Superchargers but they're currently not an option.
I've contacted Honda customer support as well, but they refused to even comment on whether they were looking into it.

Tesla support sent me a template answer:
Some Tesla Superchargers are open to all EVs in the UK. They are compatible with all Type 2 charging ports and you wont have any issue charging your EV.
I repeated my concern and they then said:
I can pass these to the Supercharging team and I hope this will be resolved soon.
When I asked for confirmation that it's a known issue they're looking into, they said:
Yes, I can confirm that this is a known issue and Honda E sometimes terminates the charging session on the Supercharger. This is currently under investigation.
So hopefully that means this issue is actually being looked into.
