So I think I've become a bit too reliant on the parking sensors as I went to one of our local car parks the other day...
There is a large overhang which they have painted red but there is a significant gap below the overhang to the rear of the space which led to a very close shave. It was pure luck that I stopped where I did thankfully.
I reckon loads of people will have had this issue before at the car park if there is a steep angle to the rear window with low sensors. I'm not sure why they haven't put some kind of barrier up.
Anyone else come across this kind of thing?
Very close shave/rear parking sensors
Unfortunately me.
Last year I bought a brand new BMW X3 M40i, a few weeks later parking in a dark hotel basement, a low hanging ventilation duct at the back of the parking space was not visible in the mirrors, not picked up by any of the rear parking sensors, so I hit the duct which resulted in a nasty scrape on the roof of the car way before the sensors were activated by the rear wall.
A more extreme example sadly
