Update on flat 12v battery, On picking up the car a few days later after 5 x times battery went flat dealer said had fitted new one ! Not the the truth, after battery went flat 2 x more times called dealer again they confessed it was not a new battery but the one off another Honda e . I said I wanted a new battery not a used one. Dealer called the next day to say new battery was on its way from Honda parts and technician will come to home address and fit it for me. Technician arrived with new battery in box and invoice to prove it was brand new. 3 x weeks on all seems ok have fitted a battery monitor BM2 fingers crossed.

What excuse did they give for their lie?

Lack of communication between reception and workshop.

That’s disappointing considering that the primary reason of a reception is to communicate to the workshop.

Thats a good start to the New Year, tried to get our E out of the garage this morning but everything completely dead, no lights/interior lights/ window movement.....oh joy! 12v battery must be flat??
AA on their way, hope they can jump start the battery!

I use a small lithium ion jump pack that I bought for 50quid to do the job - it's enough to get the car to wakeup...

If you have a normal 12v battery charger - you can always just charge it up for an hour or 2 and that should be enough also. Don't forget you can always open the door with a flat battery by removing the metal key part from the fob and manually unlocking the door - Saves calling out the AA...

Thank for the advice, Honda assistance turned out to be AA. Took 2 1/2 hours to arrive. He connected a large battery booster pack so the car could start and exit the garage, did some tests on the battery which seemed ok, offered an escorted drive to Newcastle Honda dealer and lift home. Decided to run the car for a round trip of 60 miles and will see what happens tomorrow. Have ordered a Hilka Tools 83850400 Jump Starter Power Bank, 400 A , just in case the battery is not charging. Will retrieve battery trickle charger from #1 son to top up in future or go down the warranty path.

Bumping this thread as my E died yesterday and i was bent over by AA since i wasn't a member...

What jump pack do you have? Are there specs to look out for? The AA guy said I wouldn't need anything beefy so I was wondering if this would do the trick:

I'm hesitant at posting this, in case I tempt fate but…
Since I have had my 12V battery replaced under warranty, I haven’t had any problems. Yes, I have Battery Monitor in place, so I can easily check State of Charge and Voltage. If it drops below 60% SoC I plug in and recharge the main HV battery for a short while knowing that the 12V will soon recover. The alternative, which is good practice, is simply to power up the car and “let it run” for few minutes before driving off. This also tops up the 12V quickly. A good tip in colder months, or setting out at nighttime. Headlights seem thirsty for energy.

So I suspect that my initial problems are related to the original factory fit, and perhaps the length of time my car took to be transported from Japan, and then sat idle in the UK docks for ages. I assume the 12V batteries weren’t fitted in UK. Honda UK delayed our deliveries until they could get Demonstrators into their dealers. People were posting images from Avonmouth showing Honda e's of all colours just sat there. Very frustrating. Where were the White ones?

That will be fine - mine looks very similar but without the chunky case (but the red part looks identical). It only needs enough juice to power up the system, so no need to spend a fortune. I keep mine in the glove box just in case - you can always open the door with the key insert removed from the fob (don't close the door though and damage the a-pillar!)
