Your mistake there was asking we buy any car for a quote.

Their whole business model revolves around lowballing people who want to sell their cars, then reselling them for profit.

They're always going to give you a garbage price compared to what you could get for selling privately.

Its now down to £11,250

Its not a mistake on my part to enquire. I run a business and fully accept that they need to buy in order to make a mark up - I would expect the car on the forecourt with a warranty to sell for around £14,000 so I am not shocked by £11,250. My car has done 36,500 miles

So my surprise is not the margin "we buy any car.com" operate at its the surprise as to what the market would offer for my car. I am surprised that the car on the forecourt would probably only achieve £14,000 but if 10,000 mile cars are advertised at £17k I accept there needs to be discount to reflect the higher mileage so I can see why £14,000 for mine would be the forecourt price

At that figure I cannot be bothered to dispose of it, and shall keep it as a runaround - the 100 mile real range is good enough for that purpose
