Hmm that's not very good, are you going to get on to Honda about it? I have it in writing... Still trying to find a way to make it work but I'm not giving up that £500 or there is no point not waiting.
Order update
No I'm not, I was never promised a £3.5k grant in the first place. In fact when I initially reserved and subsequently ordered last year the grant didn't even come up in conversation. If you have an agreed, written costing for the vehicle that's great for you. But the grant is £3k now, so someone at the dealership will be swallowing the £500 difference, I guess, if you proceed with your purchase.

Since Honda UK confirmed on 17th March that they would honour a £3,500 discount for anyone that placed an order before 12th March, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want them to, but hey, it’s your money.Jaws wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 6:17 amNo I'm not, I was never promised a £3.5k grant in the first place. That, londiniumperson, is a very good question! Looking back at the paperwork, I do not have a written costing for my particular vehicle from the dealer on 1st October 2019. I do have some printed quotations for Honda finance from an earlier visit (which I'm not using) and a receipt for the £1000.00 deposit paid on 1st. The printed finance quotes don't include the then prevailing grant of £3500. Nevertheless, I was happy to proceed, the finance quotes had a top line cost for the car of £32,710, knock off the grant, that left somewhat less than £30k to pay at some unknown date in the future.londiniumperson wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 10:12 pm
As for the actual invoiced amount, didn't the dealer agree to honour your original invoiced amount from 1st October 2019?
Have Honda UK confirmed that in person to you rickwookie?rickwookie wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 12:31 pmSince Honda UK confirmed on 17th March that they would honour a £3,500 discount for anyone that placed an order before 12th March, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want them to, but hey, it’s your money.Jaws wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 6:17 amNo I'm not, I was never promised a £3.5k grant in the first place. Thanks for posting that Twitter link richwookie, I've seen it before on here somewhere. I did mention it to the sales person at Yeomans Honda when looking at their demonstrator a couple of weeks ago, he replied he knew nothing about Honda having a policy of honouring the full £3500 amount for early orders like mine. I doubt he would have been convinced by me showing him that link to knock £500 off.
I may have registered in the past but don't do twitter, facebook or much other social media. If anybody else on here does, could they please ask Honda UK directly (as this 'Kuro 68000' Twitter person seems to have been told) to clarify this once and for all and tell the dealers if it is indeed the case. Clearly I'd like to come home on Tuesday morning with a shiny new Honda e plus an extra £500 in my bank account.
