Next week Honda is holding the UK media launch of the Honda e. I’ll be there, with an order under my belt, as anxious as you are to get some answers about the car we are all excited about.

So….pitch the question you’d like to ask Honda’s UK execs and I’ll do my best to get it answered. Be sensible and polite now…….

I'm keen to know about weatherproofing of the charge port. Is it safe to leave the car charging outdoors overnight if heavy rain is expected? I know Bjorn Nyland did a hosepipe test on it, but I'm not sure that was conclusive. If it is weatherproof, why are they offering that hood for it on their website? Perhaps that's just for more extreme conditions like snow or hail? I'd love to know.

How did you get an invite? I asked and was declined
Anyway
1. Self park - will it go in front ways in order to charge?
2. What is the fast charge network service included? Like VW and Ionity?
3. Will a free home charger be included in the price. Like eCorsa, Mini E & e208
4. confused about the fast charge speed & time - what is achieved?
5. What additional apps are in development for the e?
6. The service package seems expensive as Tesla have eliminated services
7. Will there be a Type R version in the future?

9. Please describe the 8 years, 70% battery guarantee - what is this measured against? Gross or nett battery?
10. What is the drag coefficient?
11. What is the electric efficiency? Miles per kWh
12. Why did they not split fold the rear seat?

Hi Peter,

How many questions you can ask? 😆
I would like to know.

1. We heard that only 2000 units are for the UK market. Is it true?
2. Will updates be free and will they be over the air or we have to go to the dealer? And what about Map updates?

Why is there such a collective opinion of poor communication on this important car for Honda? The reserve.honda.co.uk has NEVER been updated!

Why are some dealers, and apparently HondaUK themselves on Twitter, saying the £3500 OLEV grant available pre March 11th 2020 will apply to cars yet to be delivered?

Thanks for all your suggestions so far. I will amalgamate them on Sunday evening and do my best to pin Honda down.

BTW, I am a motoring journalist, hence my access to the media event. Expect lots of action online from Monday to Friday next week.

A bit of a two-part question but
How can there be wireless apple carplay - but no wireless android auto? -
presuming they use the same hardware,
can an OTA/firmware update enable wireless android auto at some point?
This is a major thing for me. I want to have wireless android auto :(
