Would removing seats increase range by even the slightest?

Just a random question of someone I know that asked if they removed the passenger seat and removed the back seats entirely as he would forever only be the person driving it without question. I'm sure it wouldn't make a huge difference to the lightness of the car but then saying that I remember someone doing the same and gaining around 5 extra MPG in their 1.3 petrol car  so that surely is an interesting question still, would removing every seat but the drivers warrant a noticeable range difference? none? 3? 5? 10? 20?

It wouldn't hurt.

But I'd downgrade wheels to 16" and optimise with low rolling resistance tyres first.
