Your USB needs to be formatted to FAT32 and you need to save the picture in the root directory, not into a folder.

While I await delivery of my Honda e, I made a Pixelmator Pro template document based on the measurements others have shared:

Screenshot 2021-10-08 at 18.33.40.png

(That is not at all the wallpaper I'm going with. Just an example.)

Download the template here:
Honda e template.pxd.zip
(35.43 KiB) Downloaded 198 times
And because cropping out the middle 60 pixels by hand is a bit of a bother, and because automation is fun, I also wrote an AppleScript to do it for me 😁

anim.gif

Download the script here: honda_e_wallpaper.scpt (e.g. right-click and "Save Link As…" in Chrome)

Make sure the script is saved with a ".scpt" extension and open it. It should open in the Script Editor app.

Have your image (using the template above) open in Pixelmator. Save it just in case.

In Script Editor, hit Cmd+R (or the "Play" button) to run the script. The first time it's run, you may need to give various permissions.

It should make a new image without those middle 60 pixels, save it to the desktop as "honda_e_wallpaper_….jpg", show that file, and will even tell you if it's over the 10 MB limit.

You can read more about scripting Pixelmator with AppleScript here.

It was a lot of fun to write. Let me know if you find it useful!
