Get Netflix for passenger while driving

Hi!
The Honda e is great with its many screens, but unfortunately, they are very limited by the software. Why shouldn't the passenger watch a movie on the great screen that we have in the Honda e?
Here is my progress so far:
I have managed to get into the diagnostics menu. This is done by pressing and holding- Home button, after 2 second add audio off button and after 5 seconds add brightness button. Hold these down for about 10 seconds and diagnostics menu pops up. Select the bottom option on screen (settings) and then hold home button for about 5 seconds. A beep comes and new menu appears. Here, you can go to vehicle information and toggle DD VSP off. This will allow you to view content over HDMI while driving.
The issue with this solution is that it resets every time you start the car, so for longer trips its ok, but doing it every time is a pain... No Honda forum has any advice on how to fix this setting permanently (or at least i havent found any way.)
Preferred solution:
Install Netflix directly on the system. Since its android, it should work.
Issues: system does not allow to install apps from usb even if you allow it in developer mode
I found the Honda hack, but the Honda e is not supported yet. I contacted the developer, but he hasnt specified, if this is something that he will add.
I have a couple android developer friends but we are unable to get the USB port switched to host, so you can "debug" over USB.
In all the tutorials for Honda hack, there is another hidden menu in the diagnostics menu, that allows you to switch the USB to host. Unfortunately i could not find it. Has anyone had more success? I tried holding all the different buttons but nothing happens.
Alternative solution:
Jailbroken iphone + carbridge
Issues: netflix does not play because of DRM protection
Alternative solution 2:
Rooted android phone- has anyone tried? I dont want to buy an android phone, root it, to just find it doesnt work..
Surely, im not the only one trying to do this. Maybe if we put our heads together, we can figure it out.
