I have seen that there's a bit more info on the long awaited 'Honda Digital Key' subscription, see here https://www.honda.co.uk/cars/owners/my- ... ption.html
Hopefully this will have been tested to ensure that it works properly before release, however I doubt that it will.
I wonder what will be Honda's response when people claim for huge taxi fares when the key app fails when out & about and people have get somewhere on time and have to leave their Honda e?

I am also very skeptical considering the currentl quality. The only thing that gives me hope right now is that it’s also going to be applicable for the Jazz, using the same app presumably, and that car is pretty popular so hopefully Honda is giving it the effort it takes.

One major difference (improvement) could be, that connection seems to work via Bluetooth. Thus no communication with honda servers required for opening doors etc.

I am very very curious about this feature. My dealer for example still doesn't know how to activate my car for the App. But now we are also in a lockdown, so not much is happening anyway.

I find it disappointing that NFC will only work with Android, but not with iOS. Opening the horrible app and entering a PIN code instead of holding the phone to the sensor is nothing for everyday use....

RAL - I am had completely missed that iOS won’t work with NFC. That’s a shame. I wonder if there will be an update?

Apple NFC works fine on iOS. They even have a carkey programme, and BMW demonstrated it.
The fact that Honda doesn’t want to use this technology is not the fault of iOS.

I know – maybe it has no technical but strategic or financial reasons in the context of Apple Carkey ...
