Do you think there will be software updates for this car? Does anyone in the industry know about any coming?

It is very doubtful. Traditional automakers are hardware focussed. Software is something they do badly.
I am not getting my hopes up.

They can't even get the app updated to work, so I very much doubt any effort is being put into improving the car's software.
