I miscalculated a journey as I got a bit frivolous on the motorway, so we took a detour to a Tesla public charger, however when we got there, the pub owner came out and said that it's out of order.
The next charge point was 6 miles away , but I was at 3 miles range and 3% battery.
Anyway I cruised and tried to stay around 30 mph, country roads helped, eventually it said zero miles range and battery was 0%. With 2 miles left to go.
Anyway, we made it, it was very tense and I thought we would have to push it a mile.
I drove at 0% battery today!

Last year I intentionally ran mine down to zero and found that performance was unaffected right up to that point. I didn't want to chance taking it beyond zero but would expect the performance to be throttled back as the charge was depleted to actual zero rather than the indicated zero.

Glad you made it!
As a matter of interest (with advance apology not checking the manual), what kind of warning started at what point & if so how frequently?
Eg. My previous car started big red warning on the screen when 15miles left, repeatedly every 3min or so, and at about 7miles left air con etc went off automatically. Even at normal time if I tried to check Nav point further than current charge, it gave me warning and tried to nav me to the nearest charging point first (which was annoying).

I seem to recall that the turtle pops up at 15% charge state. There are some other indicators as described in the manual:

Awww thank you Londinimperson, I knew it's already discussed elsewhere!
So Turtle mark and/or amber battery warning, got it. Obviously I will avoid it at all cost... No Nav related warning then, that's good

You get warning from 15% then you get further performance warning but nothing changes on the car as far as I know, but at that stage I have already turned off air con and slowed down.
At 0 it was warning about transmission not working, but again I didn't notice any problem.

This is really interesting!
I've been planning out virtually every car journey over 35 miles I've done in the past ten years. Figuring out what are the optimum charge points, and how long to stay at each. All based on a 70 mile range. If I know there's an extra 10 or so miles in the "tank", this means I need to do some adjustments!
No, you probably should not. There is a reason 0% is not actually dead battery - probably that Honda rather wants you limping a few miles to the charger in case of an unforeseen event despite a dent in battery life, than seeing you stranded to protect a battery on a car that could have done that crucial extra mile.Thundarian wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 2:29 pm
