Hey everyone!
I'm interested in what (if any) charge point you've chosen? I'm thinking it's about time to stop charging my E through the dining room window
Here in Scotland being able to make use of the additional £300 grant on top of the £350 offered by OLEV is making the Andersen look quite appealing.
At the same time charging through the 3-pin plug for 12 hours is almost perfect for overnight charging...
Home Charge Points
I’ve got a Zappi outside my business, via the discounted (£350 off) workplace charging scheme. Very happy with it, especially the app. Although I haven’t actually charged with it yet as the Honda comes tomorrow.
I’ve also got a Ohme 3 pin charger for £199 (half price) as I’m with Octopus. This is for our EV Kangoo coming next week, with will be charging overnight in our work bat cave. Again not used yet, but the app works !!

Scottish power are doing one for £200 (taking into account the grants) which is a wallbox model - looks good enough.
Hi AdamM94 ! At last another owner in Scotland. Thought I was only one. In Callander, black 16" wheels, love the car. Home charge most of time from13 amp socket but have 4 7.5Kw charge points 100 yards from me if I need 100% in a hurry.
Zappi definitely seems to be one of the best options. The installer certainly recommends it as well! Can't quite wrap my head around the Ohme 3 pin charger, I'd imagine the main benefit to having that is to be able to sync it with something like Octopus Agile?ajms0288 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 7:18 pm I’ve got a Zappi outside my business, via the discounted (£350 off) workplace charging scheme. Hadn't seen this before thanks! Seems like a great deal, plus looks to be available without needing to actually join Scottish Power as well.Fakeplasticman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 9:50 pm Scottish power are doing one for £200 (taking into account the grants) which is a wallbox model - looks good enough.
I was starting to think the same thing! Still haven't seen another out on the roads yet. Although I've only done 300 miles in 3 months...
Similar situation to me, I have a train station charge point just around the corner if I needed it. Although Fife Councils attitude to the charge point costs is a little frustrating for having a small battery (£1.60 connection fee?!?!).
I've ordered a heavy-duty extension lead to trial. Would allow me to charge from the garage socket instead of the dining room. For £20 instead of the £200+ for a charge point it might be more than enough until we're allowed to travel again!
Was this quote after the £350 grant? I was quoted £735 + £85 for the Zappi then £350 installation, so after the grant it would have been £820 (Minus an additional £300 EST Scotland refund). Sound like a similar install to what I asked for as well with around 1 meter cabling then through the garage wall to the charger.

Just chiming in - just got my Scottish Power wallbox installed. The guys were done in 90 mins flat, managed to get the cable under the floorboards and we were up and running in no time. Scottish power use everwarm (who in turn use local contractors) but it was pain free and now I no longer have to worry about leaving enough time to charge overnight! Happy days.
