I am ALWAYS getting strong static shocks from this car when I have driven it, even for 5 mins, I get out and close the door and boom, a loud crack!

My Passenger does not get shocks however.

Does anybody have tips for me?

I didnt get it with the Lexus.

Does it have anything to do with your clothing and the seat covers of the Honda e?
What kind of material do the seats in the Lexus have?

I used to get this with an old Renault years ago with velour seats , I was fine when I closed the door by pushing the window but if I touched the door ... wham . not hart stopping but still took you by surprise when you were not thinking about it . It would depend on which shoes you had on .
Never had a problem with the Honda so far .

The Lexus had a man made leather style material seat.

I'll have to try and wear different clothing and have a shave

Yes me too, all the time. The only way to stop it is to touch the metal before you go out of the seat. It works.

Which model do you have? The advance with 17" wheels or normal with 16"?

Do you have rubber mats or carpet mats? Maybe no mats?

Do you wear a lot of polyester or wool. Insulated rubber soles?

Is it worse in dry weather than wet?

Thankfully we don't have any petrol fumes to have to consider.

I have the advance 17inch with carpet mats, modern steel.
I don't know why it happens. Weather is always dry here :)
I wear normal jeans most of the time. Maybe I have a habit of not drinking a lot.... I don't know. I think has to do with the material of the seat and no metal inside.

My Kangoo ZE gives me a static shock every time I get out, so much so that I have had to learn how to get out with a little brush of clothing against the door metal before touching it.
Thankfully not in the e.
