Sorry I couldn't see anything here about it, but presumably the Honda e has a pedestrian warning sound. I didn't notice it when I test drove the car but it must be there.
What is it like and can it be turned off? In my old Leaf and in many other EVs there is button to turn it off.
In 2019 the EU mandated all BEVs to emit a sound below 12MPH or while reversing. It's called an acoustic vehicle alert system (AVAS). I assume we won't be taking back control and eliminating now we're no longer part of the EU.
I know, but in many other cars like the Leaf and the e-Niro there is a button that turns it off. Something about UK rules that there has to be an off button.

Surely the ability to turn it off negates its intent. Is the Leaf's switch labelled "Sneak up on pedestrians mode"?
I think it was some old rule that was mostly about ice cream vans or something, had to be able to switch it off.
You cannot turn it off in the Honda E. I also was disappointed at first but I like the sound as it is like a spaceship and unique. Does not bother me at all and sounds cool. I hate the sound of the Zoe for example.
