Even though the Peugeot e208 was first on sale a year after the Honda e, it’ already has a motor & efficiency upgrade in the pipeline.
It’s as we had guessed and confirms that the Honda e is now Honda’s forgotten EV and there will be no updates.
Here’s a link to an article about the e208:

Yeah, but it's a Peugeot. For many people that immediately negates any positive factors.
The e hasn't had an update yet because it's fit for purpose for what was intended - a short range city run about. It's also only been on sale for a little under 3 years. What other manufacturers are doing more than likely has very little bearing on Honda's plans for the lifecycle of the car.
Japanese manufacturers tend to have a slower update / refresh cadence of 5-7 years when compared to their European counterparts (source - I worked for Nissan for many years). The only thing that usually happens in that period is minor styling / trim range changes or the addition/removal of options or special edition versions.
Just because Honda aren't immediately diving on giving the car updates, it doesn't mean it's been forgotten. The aesthetics are still super fresh, the interior and equipment levels are top of its class, the materials used are fantastic and there are no major reliability issues that have called for a change in drivetrain or major components.
The only thing people have complained about regarding the e is its range, and if you're buying one for its intended purpose then you're already well aware of the sole limitation the car has and aren't bothered about it.

Whats wrong with Peugeot? Hyundai was also bad with ICE and it's giving other brands a run for their money.. « if you're buying one for its intended purpose then you're already well aware of the sole limitation the car has and aren't bothered about it» One goes around that limitation it doesn't mean it's not one of the poorest scores in board (even in the same EV compact world) and a well deserved range update... a small compact petrol car does triple the range no problems.Verone wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 3:49 pm Yeah, but it's a Peugeot. Honda E advance [Modern Steel Metallic] [DELIVERED JULY 2020] - 85 000Kms +
It's not exactly mind blowing, it has 4bhp more than the Honda e. It also inherits a larger battery pack from other more recent Peugeot EV's. Honda don't have any other EV's out at the moment to share parts between models, and going forward it seems like they'll be using a different platform all together from GM, which is disappointing. I'm sure Honda are also disappointed with the sales, but they've got their pricing and range limit to blame for that. If so much of the battery wasn't software locked then we could have a 150 mile + car in the summer.
Most of us knew what we signed up for when we bought the car, and range was obviously not a deciding factor for the majority either. That being said it would be nice for Honda to at least try, it's a very poor show compared to other brands like Ford and VW in terms of software.

Exactly... and that's how you keep customers moving forward.stzrd wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 6:27 pm Most of us knew what we signed up for when we bought the car, and range was obviously not a deciding factor for the majority either. Have you tried the Id3 or Buzz etc? Software is an absolute mess, and the fact that it’s still present in Buzz shows that they’re not really trying either. It’s just to make it “ok-ish” then leave it for 5 years to replace the entire system.stzrd wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 6:27 pm It's not exactly mind blowing, it has 4bhp more than the Honda e. VAG is definitely not a good example. At least most Honda e software seems to work.
