There's not much here on a first read that I'd disagree with.

It's not surprising on 2 counts, one that the CEO of Honda publicly stated the he did not believe that the public wanted EVs therefore the company would not be investing heavily in them.
Secondly because the uber rich people of the world that bank roll every large company have too much invested in ICE vehicles and their fuel source.

Although true, it is completely understandable from
Honda’s point of view. They are a producer of huge quantities of engines, in factories that employ thousands of people. They can’t just switch and cause a revolution. It would upset a lot of people.
Revolution has never worked in the past, so I am all for evolution. The tipping point has passed and in 3-5 years they won’t be producing many ICE vehicles any longer.
The focus on everything but EV for the Honda, ensures that they don’t scare away the petrol heads. At least at first.
Personally I couldn’t car less about marketing campaigns in general. They’re usually just waffle. The product is what matters, and I am quite happy with my purchase. It just needs to arrive.

I'm sorry to tell you this but I understand that around 5 years ago Jaguar Land Rover’s Wolverhampton factory came on stream, making the AJ200 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. It is well known that these ICE factories have a 15-20 break point for profitability so there they'll be ICE cars for a long time yet and I suspect that there are other fairly new ICE factories in other countries.
A relatively small number of people have huge financial investments in this industry, they will do anything to preserve their wealth.

I agree that they'll do that, but in the end they have momentum against them. People are finally waking up after 50 years of warnings from climate scientists.londiniumperson wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 4:56 pm I'm sorry to tell you this but I understand that around 5 years ago Jaguar Land Rover’s Wolverhampton factory came on stream, making the AJ200 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. The effects are getting more and more visible. The old generation is dying soon, and the younger generations want change.

But if they keep buying their “half caramel, half vanilla latte, decaf espresso heated only to 100° with nonfat milk and caramel drizzle on top” and avacado on toast they'll never be able to afford itrenedekat wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 6:30 pmI agree that they'll do that, but in the end they have momentum against them.
