I had my home Ohme charger (EVSE) installed yesterday and have been able to check that it correctly charges at the lowest prices by utilising my home energy monitor (Open Energy Monitor).

Yesterday I set the car to charge to 85% max, then set the Ohme app to charge at MAX (which means ignore pricing).
Here are the images of the stats to confirm everything.

You'll see the lack of data whilst the EVSE was being installed from 9am to 1:30pm (actual power outage about 1 hr) from my home energy monitor (HEM) stats (1/2 hour stats). The time periods were 00:30-04:30 for the granny charger & the Ohme 14:00-15:30:

Below is the planned next charge on the Ohme app to add 11 miles by 07:30 today (12/09/2020), it was cut short because I had set the max charge of the car at 95% to also test that function on the car. Where you can see the auto charge periods at 00:30-01:00, 03:30-04:00 and finally at 04:30-05:00:

Finally below is the confirmation of the charge periods 00:30-01:00 & 03:30-04:00 corresponding with the cheapest prices (shown by the red line). Because the Honda does not have a public API, it doesn't know the charge state of the car, therefore it had assumed to add energy between 04:30-05:00 but the car was no longer accepting charge at that point:

It's a real shame that Honda haven't released their API, as further savings could be made.

On a different note, how does the Honda know where Home is when setting the max charge limit?

To charge with the charge amount set in Home, you
need to register the home position with navigation
system (as stated on p575 in the manual).
