"Honda has stopped selling new diesel cars in the UK, and the last vehicles are expected to be gone from dealerships within a few weeks. That means the company’s UK line is just gas, hybrid, or electric.
....
It’s the largest car manufacturer to drop diesel in the UK to date after bringing forward plans to switch to 100% green technology in the next two years. Honda will also phase out gas cars by the end of 2022, rather than 2025 as previously announced, according to the Times."

Honda axes diesel cars in the UK
All Japanese brands no longer sell diesels here anymore. The other brands follow quickly, except for the Germans.

I suspect that most European car manufacturers will be slow to kill off the diesel because it wasn't that long ago we were told that petrol was a carcinogen and diesels were safer for us.
Though in the main we're switching back to petrol, car manufacturers still have to make their diesel engine factories pay off, so I expect new diesel cars will be available for a few more years.

Good news, although the bit about them phasing out "gas" cars within the next 14 month isn't really true is it? Their non-plug-in hybrids are just "gas" cars, of which they're planning plenty of new models over the next few years sadly.renedekat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 12:28 pm "Honda has stopped selling new diesel cars in the UK, and the last vehicles are expected to be gone from dealerships within a few weeks. I think they’ll reverse that decision, because it simply is a bad investment. More and more countries are banning fossil fuel cars, and the public demands electric cars. The tipping point is around 2025. People will see that hybrids are daft.rickwookie wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 5:38 pmGood news, although the bit about them phasing out "gas" cars within the next 14 month isn't really true is it?
