Is that the car side of Android Auto though or the mobile device, given the E seems very quiet on any software changes I won't get to excited myself

In theory they should know what they're talking about, however as we all know that's rarely the case
Android Auto is the phone app, whereas Android Automotive is the embedded car solution, make your own conclusions from this and the article.

Maybe they should fix the audio apps they keep breaking first
