Has anyone found an online parts listing yet? Lings parts doesn't list the E and nor do a few of the other sites (eg amayama etc)

I have just noticed that the latching plastic part of the grey charge port cover is snapped and wont stay home in a watertight way. I very much suspect the cover flaps would not be available separately anyways, but its worth checking. If anyone knows if the socket is shared with other manufacturers, that might help in the search.

Failing that I would have to try and track down the socket manufacturer, but I suspect that wouldn't be easy!

Do you mean the latching on the left hand side of these, if so then mine have never latched from new?
If other peoples do latch then that can be another thing for the dealer to sort at the first service.

I have just noticed that the lower pin is rusty on mine :o , a poor showing considering that I have probably only opened it up about half a dozen times

Your local Honda dealer should be able to supply any parts, however the cheapest place in the country that I'm aware of who do mail order are Cox Motor Parts though you might need to email or phone them for anything not on their website.

Yes, the grey plastic cover has a foam/rubber backing. In order for it to seal the port successfully, it must latch onto something so that the rubber backing is compressed. Otherwise it remains slightly ajar and it is not sealed.

On the reverse of the grey plastic flaps, there are 2 or 3 plastic extrusion which form part of the latch, the largest outer most one has snapped off.

I suspect this is because when they are open, they are too close to the socket, so removing a charging lead is likely to catch the plastic extrusion and snap it off.

I'm assuming you these are the plastic extrusion you mean on the underside of the flaps:

Yes, the plastic tab closest to the camera, that is snapped off on my example for the top connector. Looking at your photo however , it would appear the 2nd tab with the 'profile' is the one that provides some kind of latching effect against your slightly rusted pin. I will have another look at mine on Monday, perhaps it is not even a minor issue to worry about.

I had this exact issue when I bought mine ex-demo. My dealership had to replace it and they told me they had to take apart quite a lot of the charge port housing.

Really?
It's just an 'e clip' on a pin, yes it looks like it'd be a fiddly job but it'd probably only take me a couple of minutes to replace both and I'm no mechanic or have access to specialist tools, I'd just be using whatever pliers I had.

It looks like the pins cannot be slid out without removing at least some of the cowling, and I guess it snowballs from there.

I recall laughing hard when replacing the front suspension springs on my wife's Peugeot 207 and the Haynes procedure started off with "remove the windscreen wipers" only for it to be absolutely required.

After close inspection today, the 3rd 'tang' is not integral to the latching function, and mine is indeed closing and sealing fine. The latching mechanism is a soft one and does not give positive feedback hence the confusion. No need to faff around with it thankfully.
