As I was nearby late last night I just had to try my first charging session at a Tesla SuC. No inappropriate bay use by me (Tesla owners are worried about such a thing); I'm so glad Honda positioned the charge port front and centre! 🙂

Tell us more. What is cost per kWh? No App, just Contactless? Charging rate? How long did you charge?

Trafford Centre, Manchester, 62p per kWh, Tesla App (no contactless as the Superchargers don't have screens), it was showing about 10-11 kW during the time I was charging which was around 15 minutes, as I was only testing it I put in 2 kWh which took it up to 80% state of charge, it cost me £1.24 in total.

I don't know if it's coincidental, it charged OK, however upon disconnection, an error message is now displayed on the dash (it has never been displayed previously in the 17 months I've owned the car) which states: Power System Indicator (Page 111 in e-manual), 'Have your vehicle checked by a dealer immediately'. As it was around 11:00 pm that wasn't happening and it was driving fine so I headed home. I plugged in when I got home and hoped the message would have cleared this morning. It charged up without issue but the message is still displayed. Looks like a dealer visit will be necessary!

Info on the use of Tesla supercharger for non Tesla owners:
You need the Tesla app
Around 60p/kWh for PAYG
47p/kWh if paying a monthly sub of £10.99
So you’ll need to use something like 74kW’s a month to make paying the sub worthwhile.
Tesla owners don’t pay the subscription fee.
Here’s the map of the chargers currently available for all to use:

Excellent news on the bay positioning connectivity on their short cables, not that any would cover any of my travels as it is at the moment.

I also tried the Tesla Supercharger network, and I'm reporting the same results of the "quick charge" warning light and being unable to charge via CCS. The error does clear itself after the car is left for a little while, or if it is charged via a 7kW charger.

I used the Tesla Supercharger station available in the trail in Wokingham, the Honda e starts charging for roughly 10 seconds before the light in the charge port turns red and it disconnects, theres a photo attached below I have only seen this error when using a charge unit once before, and it was one of the new (but really not very good) BYD 120KW chargers.

Seems to be some kind of incompatibility between the Honda e and the Tesla network. Unsure which is to blame, car software or Tesla software, but I've seen plenty of vehicles from other brands charging there fine.

It is worth noting that in the original post by 555djk, they are using a V3 Supercharger, while the Wokingham station is a V2, which may explain why they at least got to charge for some time before getting error, rather than how I couldn't charge at all and still got the error.

If anyone else gives it a shot, I'd be interested to see results, especially at Wokingham...

I’m very interested in this. I charged at home after the fault appeared but used a ‘Granny’. I’m currently at 100% so will head to the motorway shortly to reduce the battery level and then plug in at a local Tesco to see if the fault clears. I’ll report back later.

I've also heard some people report that opening then bonnet for a few mins then closing it can also clear the fault. This worked for me once too.

Interested to see if it works for you!

Back from my journey. Fault still indicated. Used 7kW Podpoint at Tesco and charged fine. Then visited a local InstaVolt and 2 attempts (£15 pre-authorisation each time!) using CCS but faulted with red indicator displayed at plug-in point. Also tried CCS on both Podpoint and Be.EV with the same result. So it appears the Tesla charge has affected the DC charging.

Also tried the bonnet opening suggestion but no joy with that either.

I’ll call my local Honda Dealer tomorrow.

I thought it was a good idea to try the Tesla Supercharger, not so sure now! 🙄

The same problem was reported in the earlier Netherlands trial:
