Today I experienced phantom 'Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) / Low Speed Braking Control (LSBC)', see the attached video.
I had pulled over to let another car pass on a narrow road, then upon pulling away, the CMBS/LSBC slammed the brakes on violently, then I had to wait a second or so (it felt like an age stranded like a beached whale in the road) before I could then move off again.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Nice that you got on video, as otherwise so hard to explain / prove to a dealer or Honda or so!

Why would the car does this in this instance, what sort of imminent danger did it detect??

Do miss the screams of the driver on this video when this happened ! :-) :-)

I've no idea, there was nothing in front as you can tell.

You must have been there :lol:
I've disabled the microphone, I don't need to remind myself that I talk to myself (or more likely shout at the careless day dreamers).
This is the first time that it has happened & only the 3rd time my wife's been in the car, I was driving, so obviously the first thing I was asked was - Why did I slam on the brakes for no reason :?

Weird, that I had a car showing Infront of my car randomly on the drive today on the driver display, did you notice anything on your driver display?

Yes, this as you'd expect:

Anecdotally, I'd swear this is kicking in more often in the last few months than it did previously. So I guess, as there's been no updates to the car, my driving is just deteriorating?

I've decided to have another look in the manual & it's possible that it occurred due the curb/raised bank, towards which I initially I accelerated to, before starting to turn away.

From page 441 of the manual;
If the system is activated by curbs/parking curbs or
level differences on the road and you are unable to
park or clear them, turn the system off.

It's also possible that 'Collision Mitigation Throttle Control' was invoked as described in page 443:

Also on page 441,it's a little worrying that it could occur on a railway crossing. How, I can't see, unless the barriers come down very quickly or the driver tries to jump the warning signs/lights;
When trapped in a railway crossing, the system may
detect the crossing gate as an obstacle and activate.
If this happens, Low Speed Brake will automatically
cancel after a certain amount of time after stopping,
so continue to move forward. If Collision Mitigation
Throttle Control is activated, continue to calmly
depress the accelerator or depress the accelerator
once again, then push aside the crossing gate.
