While I was doing the paperwork at the dealership to collect my E last week I came across the article online about Honda’s decision to stop selling the E here, when I showed that to the sales guy he immediately took it to show the rest of the staff because it was news to him.
He said that from next year 25% of new vehicle sales must be EV’s and they will only have the e:Ny1 to sell. I wonder what the penalties are going to be if they can’t.
What's the problem with EV sales needing to be at 25%? Honda had it sorted ages ago as per the topic thread Honda e officially cancelled in UK and Europe: It also "spearheaded [the brand’s] strategy to electrify 100 per cent of Honda’s mainstream European line up by 2022".

Apparently this "30 EV models by 2030" is something Honda has been saying for years:
"Honda Motor Co. will launch 30 EV models by 2030 with a production volume of more than 2 million vehicles a year, the company said during a live briefing on Monday evening." · TechCrunch 2022-04-12
"Honda To Invest $40 Billion In Electrification And Launch 30 EVs By 2030" · Forbes 2022-04-27
"Honda has previously said it plans to build two million EVs globally a year by 2030 and has laid out a target to introduce 30 models powered solely by a battery by that year." · Reuters 2024-01-10
The headline at Jalopnik, "Honda To Lay Out Plan For 30 New EVs At CES", was less precise than it could have been - shocking.

None of those articles refer to any Honda press releases they are 'journalists' making up thier own narrative as always; they repeat the same old tripe that they even believe their own lies.

Wow! Honda did state that!
Odd that the press briefing that you linked to has '(The site is intended exclusively for the use of journalists.)', with publicity materials hidden in a restricted area. It doesn't instill any confidence to me that Honda are an open & honest company having differant 'stories' for press, public & other's.
